Welcome to our initial ethanol-related blog, and our first blog period! Please bear with me as I begin to share my thoughts on the industries noted in the blog, and in particular cellulosic ethanol.

With all the wide variety of news articles, opinions expressed (many seemingly with little or no effort to truly understanding cellulosic ethanol and the present state of the technical and chemical capabilities and the realities of bringing it to full commercialization), I personally am getting frustrated with the inaccurate and/or incomplete information that industry leaders, journalists, and others are talking or writing about concerning the cellulosic alternative to producing ethanol.

Having attended the Cellulosic Ethanol Summit in Washington, D.C. in November 2006, I had the privilege of hearing first hand from many knowledgeable professionals from business, scientific, university laboratories, and Congressional and industry representatives as to the present capabilities, issues, and challenges that exist today in the production of cellulosic ethanol, in particular on a commercial scale. Having also received presentation material from nearly all of the speakers, I will begin to share some of this insight with you.

In the mean time, I continue to review the numerous articles to attempt to determine which sources appear to be more thorough in their coverage of ethanol and cellulosic ethanol, and alternative fuels in general.

Please add your feedback, ideas for this blog and your own insight in to ethanol, alternative fuels, and renewable energy. Thanks for taking the time...
