For those interested in learning more about all facets of ethanol, you may just want to visit Omaha, Nebraska on August 12th through the 14th, 2008:
Fueling Revolution
American Coalition for Ethanol (ACE) - 21st Annual Ethanol Conference and Trade Show
Conference Agenda (click here)As someone who has attended similar ethanol conferences, I highly recommend it. You'll sit through presentations/workshops held by industry experts (scientific, industrial, commercial, and even oil industry companies heavily involved with ethanol). With fact sheets, PowerPoint presentations with a wealth of general and technical information shared, you get a whole different perspective on what is going on in the ethanol industry, and especially who is involved and what they bring to the discussion and their viewpoint.
Then decide... don't just read an article by some reporter who didn't really take time to get the "straight" scientific-based facts, or those politicians who are providing their own spin on the ethanol-food-fuel debate. I continue to ride the middle road as I dive deeper into both sides of the issue. I do know that sitting through presentations by scholars of all types presenting their "facts" has provided me with a much more informed view of the issues. Yet, I too continue to search for the truth and true, unspun, facts on the alternative fuel choices we have and will continue to have here forward.
The best to you in your fact gathering - and repeating my thoughts above - if at all possible find a workshop, seminar, trade show or the like where you too can hear and see the details and facts for yourself, then decide...
