Looks like the timing on this is just what the ethanol industry and the general public needed. Please review all sources for the fact-based data on ethanol and its impact on food & fuel... then decide.
USDA, DOE RELEASE FINDINGS OF INVESTIGATION INTO ETHANOL'S IMPACT ON FOOD AND FUEL MARKETSWith all the swirl on both sides of the ethanol issue, especially ethanol made from corn, it is important to review all sides, and in particular hard-fact data from the scientific community, not just a person or organization that is tied to one side or the other with announced or hidden objectives behind their "case" against or for ethanol.
Cellulosic ethanol continues to be a version of ethanol production that will help the cause of creating more ethanol, with less impact on the environment, and greatly reducing the demand on field (not sweet) corn. Note, in no case is ethanol created from sweet corn, the guide that we eat. And the field corn that is used results in DDG being a bi product that is then fed to livestock. For more on DDG, ethanol, cellulosic ethanol, use the handy google search to check out the latest news, reports, articles, and scientific data on each... then decide for yourself.
